Who are the Ireland’s Best Workplaces in Tech™ 2026?

Written by Marina Rivas | May 21, 2026 9:00:00 AM

Today, we revealed the 49 organisations recognised as Ireland’s Best Workplaces in Tech™ 2026, celebrating companies that are not only delivering technological excellence, but building workplace cultures where people feel trusted, supported, and empowered to do their best work.

In a sector defined by constant change, emerging technologies, increasing pressure to innovate, and ongoing competition for talent, the data reinforces a powerful message: innovation is strongest when it is built on trust

Across the 2026 Best Workplaces in Tech™, employees reported standout experiences across the core dimensions of workplace culture, including 86% for Camaraderie, 83% for Fairness, 82% for Respect, 82% for Pride, and 81% for Credibility.

At a time when stress, burnout, and rapid transformation continue to challenge the tech industry globally, this year’s recognised organisations are demonstrating that high performance does not have to come at the expense of employee wellbeing. Instead, they are creating cultures where people feel supported, heard, and equipped to navigate change together.

What Sets the Best Workplaces in Tech™ Apart?

The organisations recognised this year are outperforming the national benchmark across many of the areas that matter most for culture, retention, innovation, and long-term performance.

When asked whether management trusts people to do a good job without watching over their shoulders, 88% of employees at the Best Workplaces in Tech™ agreed, compared with 68% nationally. This 20-point difference highlights the strength of empowerment and autonomy across this year’s recognised organisations. That trust is also reflected in accountability and responsibility. 87% of employees at the Best Workplaces in Tech™ say people are given a lot of responsibility, compared with 72% nationally, while 78% say management makes its expectations clear, compared with 61% nationally.

In fast-moving technology environments, organisations cannot afford bottlenecks created by excessive oversight or unclear decision-making structures. The strongest workplaces are creating cultures where employees are empowered to act independently while remaining aligned around clear goals and expectations. That combination of autonomy and clarity enables organisations to move faster, collaborate more effectively, and adapt more confidently as business needs evolve.  Many of these themes are also reflected across the wider 2026 Best Workplaces in Ireland™, particularly around leadership visibility, employee experience, and organisational trust.

Organisational & Leadership Development: Strengthening Capability from Within

Sustainable success requires more than strong strategy; it requires strong leaders at every level.

Across this year’s recognised organisations, employees consistently report higher levels of development and support. 76% say they are offered training or development to further themselves professionally, compared with 59% nationally, while 84% say they are developing professionally working in their organisation.

These organisations are not relying on external hires to fill capability gaps. They are building leadership pipelines internally, aligning development with business goals, and ensuring that growth opportunities are visible and accessible. As change accelerates, organisations that build leadership capability will outperform those that treat it as an afterthought.

In a sector where technology, customer expectations, and ways of working are evolving rapidly, organisations that continuously develop internal capability are better positioned to adapt and scale effectively. Rather than reacting to change, these workplaces are creating cultures where progression and leadership development are embedded into the organisation itself.

Talent Management in a Competitive Tech Landscape

The technology sector continues to face intense competition for skilled talent, with organisations across Ireland navigating increasing pressure to attract people with highly specialised expertise. In this environment, talent management has become a defining differentiator.

The organisations recognised as Ireland’s Best Workplaces in Tech™ 2026 are creating cultures where employees feel trusted and invested in. 76% of employees at the Best Workplaces in Tech™ say they are offered training or development to further themselves professionally, compared with 59% nationally. Meanwhile, 84% say they are developing professionally working in their organisation, reinforcing the importance these organisations place on long-term growth.

As emerging technologies continue to reshape the industry, technical skills and organisational needs are evolving faster than ever. The strongest organisations are responding by creating environments where learning is embedded into the employee experience rather than treated as a one-time initiative. By investing in development, adaptability, and long-term career progression, these workplaces are strengthening their ability to attract highly skilled talent while preparing employees for the future of work within the sector - something increasingly reflected in how strong employer brands influence attraction and offer acceptance

Leadership and Organisational Agility in a Rapidly Changing Sector

The pace of change within the technology sector places enormous pressure on leadership teams. Organisations are being asked to navigate AI integration, digital transformation, shifting customer expectations, and increasingly complex ways of working - often simultaneously.

In high-pressure environments like these, strong leadership communication and organisational trust become critical. The organisations recognised this year are significantly outperforming the national benchmark across leadership credibility, communication, and employee voice. 86% of employees say management is approachable and easy to talk with, compared with 61% nationally, while 82% say they can ask management any reasonable question and get a straight answer, compared with 60% nationally.

Employees also report stronger experiences around transparency and involvement. 77% say management keeps them informed about important issues and changes, compared with 56% nationally, while 80% say management genuinely seeks and responds to suggestions and ideas, compared with 52% nationally.

Importantly, these organisations are also fostering cultures where innovation can thrive without fear. 86% of employees say management recognises honest mistakes as part of doing business, compared with 61% nationally.

In fast-moving sectors like technology, uncertainty can quickly create disengagement when communication is inconsistent or leadership visibility is lacking. The strongest organisations are differentiating themselves by creating environments where employees feel informed and aligned with organisational direction. These leadership behaviours help strengthen agility across the business while enabling teams to adapt more effectively as priorities evolve.

Retention, Wellbeing, and Sustainable Performance

The Best Workplaces in Tech™ are taking a different approach. Rather than treating wellbeing as a secondary initiative, these organisations are embedding it into the employee experience itself. A standout 93% of employees at the Best Workplaces in Tech™ say their workplace is psychologically and emotionally healthy, compared with 55% nationally.

Work-life balance is another defining strength. 89% say people are encouraged to balance their work life and personal life, compared with 57% nationally. These experiences are also having a direct impact on retention, with 83% of employees at the Best Workplaces in Tech™ saying they want to work at their organisation for a long time, compared with 59% nationally.

In a sector where competition for skilled talent remains exceptionally high, these results carry significant business impact. Strong retention can substantially reduce recruitment pressure and associated hiring costs over time. Applying the broader Irish market average of approximately €11,500 per hire, organisations experiencing high turnover could face significant financial strain simply maintaining workforce stability.

The organisations recognised as Ireland’s Best Workplaces in Tech™ are demonstrating that wellbeing is not separate from business performance. It directly influences retention, organisational resilience, and long-term sustainability. In an industry where burnout and attrition can quickly disrupt productivity and continuity, creating environments where employees feel supported in sustaining performance becomes a significant competitive advantage. This is especially relevant as employee expectations continue to evolve, a shift also reflected in the Best Workplaces for Women™ 2026

The Foundations of High-Performing Workplace Cultures

The strongest tech organisations understand that high performance is not built through pressure. Sustainable success comes from creating environments where people feel connected, recognised, and motivated to contribute.

Across the 2026 Best Workplaces in Tech™, employees reported significantly stronger experiences around collaboration and workplace pride. 84% of employees say they can count on people to cooperate, compared with 63% nationally, while 88% say people care about each other.

These findings reflect cultures where employees feel their contribution is both visible and valued. In highly specialised industries like technology, where work can often become fast-paced and transactional, recognition plays an important role in reinforcing connection to both teams and organisational purpose.

Pride is another defining strength of this year’s recognised organisations. 82% of employees say they are proud to tell others where they work, compared with 66% nationally, while 83% say they feel a sense of pride when they look at what their organisation accomplishes, compared with 65% nationally.

That sense of pride has a meaningful cultural impact. Employees who feel positively connected to their organisation are more likely to advocate for it externally, contribute beyond their immediate responsibilities, and help strengthen the organisation’s reputation in an increasingly competitive talent market.
