At James Whelan Butchers, our story begins in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, where five generations of master butchers have dedicated themselves to the art of butchery. Founded in the 1960s, our family business has grown from a small local shop into one of Ireland’s most respected names in food-a place where craft, care, and community still guide everything we do.
Today, with 14 shops across Ireland and a thriving online store, we continue to honour those traditions while embracing innovation and excellence at every stage. From our own farm to our production kitchens, logistics, and retail counters, we oversee every detail-ensuring absolute quality, traceability, and trust.
