NCRI is a State Agency under the Department of Health and responsible for all Cancer Registration within Ireland. We have a 7 member board who oversee our work and 54 employees many of whom are employed as Electronic Cancer Data Registrars throughout the country while the rest of our staff are based at H/Q in Cork. Activities include: Collecting Information on new cancer cases in Ireland; Monitoring trends and outomes in differnet cancer types; Promoting the use of the collected research in the planning and managment of services; Publishing an annual report on Cancer statisitics.
