About Gleneagle Hotel
The Gleneagle Group headquartered on the Muckross Road, Killarney, Co. Kerry is a family run business for over sixty years. Opened as a 8-bedroom guest house in 1957 by the grandparents of the current CEO Patrick O’Donoghue it has expanded hugely over that time into a successful hospitality and leisure group. It comprises of the 4* Gleneagle Hotel & Gleneagle Arena: 279 bedrooms, 36 self-catering apartments two restaurants, seven bars, extensive leisure facilities, conference & banqueting facilities for up to 2000 and a concert venue for up to 4200.
The Gleneagle Hotel in particular operates across a range of markets; leisure, business tourism, event management and concerts. This year alone the Gleneagle Hotel has successfully hosted among others Meitheal, Failte Ireland’s hugely important trade event connecting Irish hospitality and tourism operators with overseas buyers primarily from Europe and the USA and the first in person event for three years, Shopify Conference for 500 delegates, INTO Teachers conference, FORSA union conference, Irelands Bikefest as well as sold out concerts for Dermot Kennedy, Gavin James, Christy Moore, Gerry Cinnamon, comedy gigs for Joanne McNally, Tommy Tiernan and Irish Dancing events for An Comhdhail, and Mini Munster.
The diversity of the type of events that the organisation hosts and successfully runs requires us to have an extremely agile, equally diverse, well trained, informed team. We have 350 employees across the three sites with the majority based in Killarney where the shared service departments of Marketing, Human Resources, Finance and Call Centre located.
